Mika Ahola has passed away. The five time Enduro champion suffered severe internal injuries following a training accident in Spain. Ahola spent a few weeks in the hospital but succumbed to his injuries this morning. Ahola was 37. Mika Ahola won five consecutive Enduro championships (from 2007 to 2011) across three divisions (E1, E2, and E3). Ahola was also claimed the Six Days Enduro title 7-times as part of the Finnish. The large crowd who attended this first day of races, were able to witness the crowning of Juha SALMINEN (FIN - HVA) in the Enduro 1 category.
